NPTA's Volunteer Involvement & Participation, or VIP program, gives you a unique chance to get involved with a national membership association. It allows you to use your expertise, experience or interests to better the organization and advance the profession - you have the chance to share your knowledge and benefit others.

NPTA Advisory Board
The NPTA Advisory Board will contain 13 members whose main purpose will be focusing on organization strategies and planning. This leadership tier will be served in 2 year terms with the option to reapply at the end of the service time. This leadership tier requires roughly 20 hours of service per year. Advisory Board Members will also serve as a liaison to an Executive Committee and/or Section Advisory Group.
Executive Committees
Each Executive Committees will contain 7 members whose main purpose will be focusing on one of the following areas:
- Education & Workplace Development
- Continuing Education & Professional Development
- Advocacy & Regulatory Affairs
This leadership tier will be served in 1 year terms with the option to reapply at the end of the service time. This leadership tier requires 10 hours of service per year. This service will be conducted through the completion of in-depth surveys, conference calls and/or research.
Section Advisory Groups
The Section Advisory Groups will contain 7 members whose main purpose will be focusing on one of the following areas:
- Community Pharmacy
- Health-System Pharmacy
- Education & Training
- Compounding
This leadership tier will be served in 1 year terms with the option to reapply at the end of the service time. This leadership tier requires 10 hours of service per year. This service will be conducted through the completion of in-depth surveys, conference calls and/or research.
Taskforces
The Taskforces will contain 7 members whose main purpose will be focusing on one of the following areas:
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
This leadership tier will be served in 1 year terms with the option to reapply at the end of the service time. This leadership tier requires 10 hours of service per year. This service will be conducted through the completion of in-depth surveys, conference calls and/or research.
